Pay Your Estimated Taxes Online

If you pay estimated taxes, you should know that the IRS will let you pay them online.  Unfortunately, there's a 15 day waiting period to set up your online account, so it's too late for this quarter.  Set it up now and be ready when September rolls around!

The June 15th tax deadline looms, which means freelancers, sole proprietors and other misc income-making individuals and small businesses have an estimated quarterly tax payment to make. Up until now estimated tax payments were one of the last things that I wrote a dead tree paper check for; but it turns out I was living in 2001. The US Department of Treasury offers EFTPS, an online payment system that takes electronic estimated tax payments.

I often preach to my clients about the evils of warranties on consumer electronics.  Although it is true that there is always a chance that an expensive computer, television, etc. may break and set you back a fair amount of money, I contend that in the long run, you will pay more money in warranties than you will to replace the items you've been insuring.
