NBC has decided that consumers aren't paying enough to watch their television shows on little two-inch iPod screens, so Apple told them to take a hike. Unfortunately, consumers are the losers in this deal.

And today, something for Mac fans:
Last week's release of iLife '08 marked the first update to Apple's digital media suite in more than 18 months. Originally created as part of Apple's digital hub strategy as a single, user-friendly repository for digital media, iLife has grown into a creative suite of applications that make it easy for anyone to turn his digital memories into books, movies and DVDs, Web sites and beyond. It has become a staple for Mac users, shipping with every new Macintosh computer and offering tools for managing and editing digital photos, video and music.

Yesterday, Apple announced the launch of its latest iMac- with a sleeker, aluminum design, and glossy screen. It now looks right at home next to your new iPhone. They do look great, and with their improved performance, pack a great value for the price.
Built from aluminum and glass, the new all-in-one desktops feature a complete, slimmer redesign and will come in two sizes: 20-inch and 24-inch. There's the usual compliment of ports like USB 2.0, Firewire 400 / 800, a slot loading SuperDrive, iSight camera and so forth.

One recent series of revelations have come about, questioning the security risks involved with using the much-heralded iPhone. Apple is excellent at keeping the press positive, so it's worth reading up on this to get the full picture:
The iPhone's vulnerability to attack was underscored last week, when software researchers at Independent Security Evaluators in Baltimore demonstrated how an attacker could plant software on a Web page that would seize control of any iPhone that visited the page.

An interesting article into the design mindset of the man behind Apple's every move- Steve Jobs. He has an almost maniacal aversion to buttons on consumer electronics (hence the iPhone- with its single button design).

From the New York Times:
Talk about hype. In the last six months, Apple's iPhone has been the subject of 11,000 print articles, and it turns up about 69 million hits on Google. Cultists are camping out in front of Apple stores; bloggers call it the "Jesus phone." All of this before a single consumer has even touched the thing.
